RVLock Atlas Keyless Handle for Class A & C Motorhomes - 2nd Generation

So close to perfect, really easy to install/replace the stock door handle with the Atlas Gen2 handle and the operation of the new handle is so much smoother. Only negative is that it is slightly smaller which leaves a noticeable gap in the paint coverage around the handle. If only it came with a trim piece to cover this or was just slightly bigger to eliminate the need for a trim piece. Guess I just need to get out the touch up paint.

So.... you pay 6 figures for a motor home and find out they all have the same damn key! That's not how they sell cars why would they do that for something you use as a second home!? Ridiculous!

We didn't feel safe taking it out knowing this so we wanted to upgrade our lock to something that worked better and had a personalized key.

We had to buy ours through RV Lock as Amazon didn't carry the specific model we needed. But I wanted to leave a review on Amazon because so far we love this and I wanted to sing the praises here for you all to see!

We did have to modify...Well trim back the lever that engages the latch in the door. When we would tighten the screws on the lock the latch would stop engaging. Finally figured out the lever for the latch was hitting the internal piece of the new lock. So my hubby had to get a grinder to shave off the corner. After doing that everything clicked until place and worked great! Install was easy outside of the modification we had to make. We did also have to shave a little off the outside fiberglass of the opening. So be aware you may need to make small modifications based on your specific rv. But minor for us to do and get everything to fit in place.

The ability to just punch in a code or use the fob is amazing! How nice to not have to take keys if we don't want to. Going from a lock that was cheap and sometimes didn't work well or wouldn't unlock to this is night and day. It locks into place like butter. Our factory lock we'd have to slam the door and mess with it for a while to get the dead bolt to engage. Love that we don't need to do that anymore, this glides into lock and unlock with ease.

And might seem silly but the little sounds it makes when locking and unlocking are just plain fun! Lol all in all seems like a quality product and we happy to feel secure when on the road now.

Only negative and it's a little thing is why on the fob are there 2 sepatate lock and unlock buttons and they are small on the side vs the large area that isn't a button at all. Just kinda weird button set up. Why not one large lock and unlock instead to make it easier?

After removing my stock door handle, it looked like it was not going to work with my door latch. After staring and operating the Atlas door mechanism in my hand, I noticed the Atlas is perfectly designed to fit my RV. I am extremely satisfied. Job well done RVLock

The lock arrived in a timely manner. On the first attempt to install I realized that one of the parts was manufactured incorrectly. After calling and sending a picture they replaced the part, although I had to wait several days since it war not expedited. I installed the lock with an extra pair of hands which is helpful at one point. The lock works and looks great. So far no issues after 4 days of use. We are full time RVers.
