If you’re anything like us at RVLock, you’ve been dreaming of warmer weather. We are so excited to finally get back on the road and travel to some of our favorite places in our rig. This blog is full of our favorite destinations around the U.S. that are perfect in the spring weather, have gorgeous scenery, and plenty of outdoor activities.

National Parks:

Many National Parks, such as Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon, are ideal for RVers in the spring. You can enjoy fewer crowds, blooming wildflowers, and mild temperatures for hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography. We recommend checking each park’s website to ensure they’re open for the season on the dates you’re planning to visit. We have a variety of National Park RV Travel Guides on our website to help you have the best experience at each National Park.

Coastal Areas:

Coastal destinations like the Pacific Coast Highway in California, the Oregon Coast, or the Gulf Coast in Florida offer stunning ocean views, beach activities, and fresh seafood. Spring is a great time to enjoy mild weather and avoid the summer crowds that often gather here. For additional beach RV locations, read our Beach Bum RV Destinations blog.

Desert Southwest:

Destinations like Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California offer warm temperatures and clear skies in the spring. RVers can explore iconic landmarks like Joshua Tree National Park, Sedona, or Saguaro National Park. We have an entire blog post dedicated to those who love Desert RV Destinations.

Mountain Getaways:

Head to the mountains for scenic drives, hiking, and outdoor adventures. Destinations like the Rocky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Smoky Mountains offer breathtaking views and perfect opportunities to see spring wildflowers and wildlife.

Wine Country:

Spring is an excellent time to visit wine regions like Napa Valley, Sonoma County, or Willamette Valley. Enjoy wine tasting, vineyard tours, and scenic drives through rolling hills and lush vineyards. We have an entire California Winery Guide filled with wineries that would be perfect to visit this time of year.

Historic Towns and Cities:

Explore charming historic towns and cities that offer cultural attractions, local cuisine, and outdoor recreation. Consider destinations like Savannah, Charleston, or Asheville for a blend of history, charm, and natural beauty.

Lakeside Retreats:

Lakeside destinations like Lake Tahoe, Lake Powell, or the Great Lakes offer opportunities for boating, fishing, and water sports in the spring. Enjoy scenic lake views, hiking trails, and waterfront camping.

These are just a few of our suggestions, but there are countless RV destinations to explore in the spring. Whether you prefer mountains, beaches, deserts, or forests, there's something for every RVer to enjoy during this beautiful season. Yellowstone National Park is especially beautiful in the spring and might just be our favorite from the list so make sure you check out our Yellowstone RV Travel Guide. Let us know in the comments below where your favorite spring RV destinations are.

See you on the road!
